dear acne campaign
in june 2024 i helped conceptualize and lead face reality’s annual shoot for their june consumer campaign for acne awareness month.
the “dear Acne” campaign was a continuation and expansion of face reality’s previous consumer campaign “let’s face acne together”. however, this campaign took a different approach.
while the 2023 “let’s face acne together” campaign was focused around community, support, and connection; the 2024 “dear Acne” campaign took a much more personal approach. This campaign aimed to serve almost as an individual’s journal or diary. it highlighted their raw emotions, frustrations, and feelings about their acne, giving them the power to take back their confidence in their skin.
when capturing the imagery for this campaign, emotion, connection, and authenticity were at the top of the list. the content for this shoot was a mix of solo portraiture, group shots, and treatment imagery. the goal was to tell a 360 story for each client, giving their personal story about their acne journey.
the final campaign assets combined imagery from the shoot along with personal polaroids and video testimonials from clients and acne experts all over the country.
